Early and often

POWERSHiFTER uses a more agile method for creative and technical work than what is traditionally used by advertising and design agencies. The traditional model is to get the brief and front load the project sequestered away working on the “Perfect Solution”. Then there is a “Ta-Da” presentation where the magic bullet solution is presented to the client with the hope that it’s considered a good idea.

JP applies his extensive experience in delivering outcome focused digital solutions for brands like TELUS, Deloitte, GE, Energizer and many other international organizations. Creative problem solving, a knack for knowing “what’s next” and an intuitive understanding of his clients’ needs have garnered him a reputation in the business that is second to none.

But it’s his innate understanding that if you surround yourself with the best and brightest and then get out of their way, everyone wins, that has made the difference for JP – and by extension, his clients, who benefit from POWERSHIFTER’S transparent, direct to expert approach.

JP Holecka envisioned an independent agency dedicated to advancing its clients businesses rather than collecting industry awards. As POWERSHiFTER continues to grow and offer this type of customer experience to more and more top brands, that vision is coming true.

Ryan McCormick

Keeping a growing, thriving agency in top form is the job of this industry veteran who has contributed to the production of digital campaigns, products and services for brands like TELUS, BC Dairy, BC Tourism, Boston Pizza, Electronic Arts, PBS and Quicken. Applying his experience and operational skills honed on the front lines of digital, Ryan has been called “a genie in a bottle, without the bottle” for his ability to get solid results for his clients. He now applies his vast digital knowledge, level head and acrobatic thinking to ensure that POWERSHIFTER continues to deliver high value, high impact interactive communications strategies for our international client base.

Denise Holecka

Working in the advertising business for well over 15 years on global brands like Levis, Blistex, Lincoln, and General Motors prior to co-founding POWERSHiFTER provided Denise with skills and stamina it takes to keep a fast-paced office functioning smoothly. She ensures that the POWERSHIFTER team has what it needs to continually deliver high performance products and services, and that our roster of trusted contractors are always paid promptly.

Steve Bond

With over fourteen years experience delivering technical solutions in the digital marketing space, Steve has earned a reputation as a trusted technical and creative problem solver.

Prior to joining POWERSHiFTER, Steve brought his experience to bear helping to deliver experiences for top-tier brands including Land Rover, Nike Golf, Jordan, BCAA, Electronic Arts, and Heineken. Steve’s work has won numerous awards including a handful of Cyber Lions, a spread in Communications Arts, and too many sites-of-the-day to count.

Rich Morgan

Rich began his career in the advertising industry in 2002, Rich has honed his project & account management skills at top-notch international digital agencies like Tribal DDB and Blast Radius.

Rich has since developed a reputation for his focused business approach and quality digital solution delivery. With his in-depth knowledge of digital, he has a knack for identifying solutions that best fit a client’s needs.

Ted Morgan

Ted comes to POWERSHiFTER having held digital production leadership roles with other agencies (Rethink, dimeRocker), including his own, CabinWorks Media. Most recently he led our fully embedded team at TELUS Digital developing several initiatives for telus.com.

Described as “unflappable along with being an out and out nice guy”, he is an admitted process-geek with a passion for building exceptional teams delivering measurable outcomes.

Ted is a Certified ScrumMaster, Certified Scrum Product Owner and an associate member of the Academy of Digital Arts & Sciences (a role that has him on the judging panel of the annual Webby Awards).

John Owen

Director of Design

John has 10 years of digital marketing experience in art direction, creative direction, and interaction design. His mission: help clients craft digital experiences across all user touch points. John has led clients and design teams to great success, working as lead creative for major brands like Nike, Nike Golf, Starbucks, Electronic Arts, Nintendo, Xbox, AT&T, and Microsoft.

John has a Bachelor’s degree in Interaction Design from SFU’s School of Interactive Arts and Technology. He loves speeding down mountains on snowboards and mountain bikes and leaping off cliffs into glacier-fed lakes. He has billions and billions of fans.
