People Powered Web Game Scores Big For Kids With Type 1 Diabetes
The Challenge:
TELUS is a major supporter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Fund and had committed to donating $200,000 worth of insulin pumps for children with Type 1 Diabetes. TELUS wanted to show people across Canada what it’s like for a child with Type 1 Diabetes, living through the highs and lows of an unbalanced diabetic life.
The Solution:
We created a timely and simple microsite where visitors were encouraged to balance a series of Christmas decorations. For every game player, TELUS donated a dollar. If a player chose to share the game on Twitter, Facebook or via email another buck was donated. In just one month there was enough engagement to hit the $200,000 target and generate a 2700% rise in telus.com/community site traffic.
What the client thought:
I have to say that you and the whole team were FANTASTIC to work with. The whole team was so responsive, patient and professional the entire time. There would have been no way we could have got the program off the ground without POWERSHiFTER.
